Lumbago

Lumbago sounds like a mysterious illness, but it really just describes lower back pain. It has a variety of causes, including arthritis or spondylosis, spinal stenosis, pressure on the spinal nerves, vertebral fractures, osteoporosis, and ruptured (herniated) discs. Chronic lower back pain usually indicates a long-term underlying condition. Depending on the cause, it may be treated by non-invasive methods or in rare cases, with surgery.

The Bonati Institute in Florida has complete services to diagnose your lumbago, correct the problem with minimally invasive surgery and rehabilitation, and help prevent it from recurring. We even correct past surgeries that failed. Our professional staff will be focused on making your visit a pleasant one and putting an end to your pain so you don't have to suffer anymore.

Lumbago Symptoms

Loss of bladder or bowel control, numbness, or loss of strength in the legs are all medical emergencies, so you should see your doctor immediately if you experience them. Less serious symptoms of lumbago include muscle spasms, soreness, stiffness, and pain that gets worse while moving. You might also have pain radiating into the buttocks or thighs, or even in your hands or feet.

Diagnosing your lumbago will usually involve a complete physical exam, as well as a thorough health history. X-rays, MRI scans, or CT scans will also be taken, and if the nerves are involved in your lumbago, you might even have some painless diagnostic nerve tests. Should you need surgery, we encourage you to consider our innovative, patented, minimally invasive procedures.
