Hyrochodone

The Bonati Institute has a physical therapy facility to help rehabilitate you after surgery, without narcotics like hyrochodone (Vicodin). Narcotics are often prescribed for severe episodes of acute back pain, but they are only useful in the short term. After a few weeks, your body builds a tolerance to them, and they become ineffective unless you raise your dose.

Some doctors do prescribe low doses of narcotics like hyrochodone for chronic pain. However, at The Bonati Institute, we prefer to stop your pain completely. If it is chronic and severe, you might need surgery. Continuing to take narcotics when they have clearly failed to cure the underlying cause of your symptoms leads to weaker muscles and possibly further damage.

Hyrochodone Pitfalls

Once you’ve had a Bonati procedure, we believe that you shouldn’t need drugs such as hyrochodone anymore. Narcotics including hyrochodone also have their own drawbacks. They can cause drowsiness, making it difficult for you to work or stay awake during the day. They can also cause constipation, and there is a small risk of addiction with them.

After your surgery at The Bonati Institute, our professional staff will thoroughly supervise your physical therapy and rehabilitation right in our own facility. Our therapy sessions will help to build strength, treat any residual pain you might have, and improve your posture and range of motion. Our physical therapists care about your well being and will also send you home with exercises so you can continue on the road to better health. If you have been using hyrochodone to treat your back pain and think you might benefit from our minimally invasive surgery, please contact us today.
